John 5 last night announced on his official Facebook page the new single and artwork for his upcoming single ‘Welcome to Violence’.

More information regarding the track and the forthcoming album ‘God Told Me To’ will be announced next week here on the official John 5 website.


Beat It out NOW

Beat, it, the long awaited track from John 5 is out now and available to download from all good online music retailers.

Beat It is a cover of the Michael Jackson classic and has been timed to be released around what would have been Jackson’s birthday.

This is also the first single to be released from the eagerly awaited solo album from John 5, God Told Me To, which will be the 6th solo studio instrumental album he has made.

The first single from the forthcoming John 5 album “God Told Me to” will be coming out in just under two weeks. Beat It, an instrumental cover of the Michael Jackson classic will be available for purchase from August 29.

To celebrate the release of this single we have come up with this great new piece of merchandise you can now purchase TODAY from the official John 5 store. An 8×10 photo of the cover from the new single and available to you autographed by John 5.

J5 collaborates with Rodger Carter on new CD

John 5 will appear with a host of other artists (30 in total), including Lita Ford, John Waite, Rick Springfield (Rodger is the drummer for Springfield), and many others on the new CD from long time friend Rodger Carter.

The album Licorice Pizza is 13 blistering tracks featuring tracks such as the fantastic cover of “Whole Lotta Rosie”.

John 5 appears on the tracks “Get Down Make Love” which is a cover of the Queen classic and also features Dilana, and the fantastic “Light Up The Sky” originally by Van Halen and featuring also Debby Holiday. (more…)

John 5 to play Vegas Rocks Show August 21

John 5 will be joining a whole host of other Rock Gods including Vince Neil from Motley Crew and Wayne Static from Static X in Las Vegas on August 21st for Vegas Rocks Magazines 2011 awards show.  This is the second of it’s kind and will also be celebrating Vegas Magazine’s 7th year in production.

Taking place in The Elvis Showroom in the famous Las Vegas Hilton, the red carpet event will also see other legends such as Dee Snider, Lita Ford and Lemmy Kilmister participating in and receiving awards.

The track, Beat It, is an instrumental cover of the Michael Jackson classic.

The track is released on what would have been Michael Jackson’s 53rd birthday.  Jackson died prematurely in 2009 following a long career which started at an early age with his siblings in The Jackson Five, before a successful solo career in his adult life.  Beat It was a track from Jackson’s critically acclaimed album Thriller and was released as a single in 1983.  The original single featured a guitar solo by Eddie Van Halen. John 5 is one of a number of artists who will appear in a new book called Musical Ink, which is to be released in 2012.

The book talks to musicians about their inspirations behind their tattoos and why they got them.

Each artist is given a full page to chat.

Hi everybody this is John 5.

I just wanted to reach out and say thank you from the bottom of my heart for the very sweet messages you sent me on my birthday.  The gallery was wonderful to look at and your message were very thoughtful.

I am very blessed to have the fans I have.  Thank you to everyone who submitted a picture, thank you to Emma for all the hard work she put in to make the gallery page and thank you to everyone who has left a message on Facebook or Twitter. (more…)

July 31st marks John 5’s 40th Birthday.

As you have been seeing over the past month, we have had an opportunity to invite you, the fans, to send in your image with a message to John 5 to see on his birthday.  We had a great response, and as such the John 5 birthday messages gallery is now online.

As an added bonus we have added the track July 31st (The Last Stand) to the site for your listening pleasure.

New meet and greet opportunities

John 5 fans we have a few openings for the sold out meet & greets.

If you’re interested here’s the details and how to take part:

John 5 fans, here is a chance for a meet & greet at the Zombie/Slayer Hell on Earth tour dates (July/August 2011 – dates below). You can bring a friend & you get a tour only signed 8×10 photo & 5 monster tour picks that John will be using on tour, along with meeting John. He will sign whatever you bring.
The price is $150 US DOLLARS. If you are interested please send an email to john5store@hotmail.com with name of venue in the subject line. You will then be notified on how to pay. You must have tickets already to go to the show.

J5 teams up with Sebastian Bach

John 5 will be appearing on Sebastian Bach’s forthcoming album ‘Kicking and Screaming’.  The album is due out on September 27 via Frontiers Records.  The track John 5 appears on is called ‘TunnelVision’.  The album is the follow up to 2007’s ‘Angel Down’.

Said Bach in 2009 on his Twitter page, about working with J5:

“I already have recorded with John 5 a couple of months ago. We have an absolutely killer song done.” John 5 is fired up to help with my new record! I am stoked!”


John 5 working with Lynyrd Skynyrd again

John 5, will again be working with legends Lynyrd Skynyrd for their forthcoming new album.

John 5 previously wrote with Skynyrd on their 2009 album “God and Guns”.  LS guitarist Gary Rossington said of John 5:

“he’s probably one of the best guitar players I’ve ever played with, and I’ve played with a lot of great ones. He just lives with a guitar on him, and he knows that neck like nobody I’ve ever seen.”  (more…)

On July 31st John 5 has his birthday and as it is a special occasion milestone birthday, a few fans came up with an idea of making this extra special.

John 5 Myspace closes today

Hello as you may remember, about a month ago we let you all know that it was our intention to close the John 5 Myspace page There are a number of reasons, mainly the decline of Myspace as a platform to reach you, the fans.  Most of the fans are now on Facebook, Twitter, or here at the site, especially given the great advances we have made to get the site more user-friendly – something we continue to work on.

So today, the steps were taken to close the account at the Myspace page.  This will take about 48 hours to complete.

BUT we wanted to say thank you, to you all, for supporting John 5 on Myspace all through the years.  It’s been a great ride on there.  And we hope you will join John 5 here, or at his Facebook and Twitter pages.

The return of God is Closed Vol 1

In 2004, John 5 released his first solo album ‘Vertigo’.  As part of the release  John 5 released a video entitled ‘God is Closed Vol: One’. The video was released on the site as a subscription service and only released physically on the Japanese version of Vertigo as a bonus.

God is Closed has become one of the most asked for re-releases of John 5 fans.  Not one to disappoint John 5 has authorized the video to be put back up on the site, available for EVERYONE to see.

Fanclub pre-order

Ladies and Gentleman the Fanclub pre-order is now underway.

And boy do we have some great stuff this year for new and renewing members.

First off as you may remember we have now created a dedicated John 5 Disciples Fanclub site to which all Fanclub members were added over the past couple of days. As well as a personal private area to interact with other members, Disciples will be able to earn achievement points that will go towards money off vouchers to spend in the fanclub store. (more…)

New fan feature – upload photos and art

It has been one of the goals of the site to make sure there is a good user experience – IE: we want the fan’s to get involved. One of the ways we have done this is to integrate the social media sites together to the news, and we have allowed in story comments.  We have also reinstated the forum to which we are getting a small but steady usage.

When we closed the John Lowery Facebook page one concern many fans brought up was how would they be able to share an image.  Well we are putting on trial a new plugin called NextGEN Public Uploader.  (more…)
