Our friends at Fender.com have exclusively revealed the video for the new John 5 and The Creatures song, ‘Behind The Nut Love’ and you can watch it now, HERE. (The video will be available at john-5.com from Feb 3rd).
The song is a reworking of the track which originally appeared on the John 5 solo album Songs For Sanity. This version has been a favorite on recent John 5 and The Creatures tours. The video itself has been directed by Lord Zane. The track is also available anywhere digital music is sold.
Speaking to Fender.com, John says “I always wanted to be a lap steel player because I loved Hee-Haw and that stuff. I loved the sound of it. This is my tribute to that instrument.”
“I tuned the guitar to an E major chord because with a pedal steel, when you’re working the pedals, it’s to an open chord. And I just started messing around. This was the result.”
The track will be available later in the year as part of the next John 5 album, “Guitars, T!ts, And Monsters”.
John 5 and The Creatures are to embark on a “Mini March Tour” on the East Coast, starting from the 3rd at Westland in MI and finishing in Syracuse NY on 18 March.

VIP will be available from Thursday and we will post those details when they are ready. (Please remember VIP does not include the price of the show ticket – this must be brought from the vendor).

Happy New Year everyone! Hope you had a great holiday.
To celebrate the new year, John 5 has released the video for his new ‘John 5 and The Creatures’ track, “Black Grass Plague“. The track is also available from all good stockists of digital music download sale distributors.
The video, directed by Coffin Case founder, and long-time John 5 collaborator, Jonny Coffin, received its new year premiere at GuitarPlayer.com and GuitarWorld.com. Guitar World call the track “country-metal thunder”. Speaking about the song, John 5 says; “This one of my favorite songs I’ve tracked recently. It’s got electric mandolin, banjo, and a ton of guitar on it, and the main guitar, bass, and drum parts were tracked entirely live, so I think it has a great feel to it. I think it’s the perfect mixture of heavy rock and crazy country.” And talking about th video production, John explains; “We filmed it in a warehouse right next to Jonny’s place. It was swelteringly hot in there that day, but we got through it, and if anything, the heat contributed to the energy in the video. The star-shaped stage with all the neon lights is actually Elton John’s piano riser,” continues 5. “It turns out you can rent it. Who knew? Thank you, Elton!”
