Here’s To The Crazy Ones” is the latest offering from John 5, Rodger Carter and Ian Ross.  It is inspired by the classic Planet of The Apes franchise. The video is again directed by Lord Zane and features some brilliant make-up by Laney Chantal, Miranda Jory and Karloffornia Casey.

The video is – as you can guess – is inspired by Planet of the Apes, and features make-up & prosthetics By Laney Chantel & Casey Wong.

Making Monsters John 5

John 5 will be releasing a third single – following up from Jan’s Black Grass Plague and Feb’s Behind The Nut Love – on March 1. The single, “Making Monsters” is another The Creatures (Rodger Carter and Ian Ross) collaboration. The video is directed by Jonny Coffin and Matt Zane, and will feature some awesome stop-motion work.

John 5 has teamed up with Guitar World and Guitar Player, who will both be releasing the video exclusively on their sites, and it will be available at john-5.com three days later.

The song Making Monsters will also be available to download wherever you can purchase digital music.

John 5 and The Creatures are to embark on a “Mini March Tour” on the East Coast, starting from the 3rd at Westland in MI and finishing in Syracuse NY on 18 March.

The dates, are a continuation of the successful tours in 2015 that The Creatures first undertook – which saw sold-out shows and rave reviews from both fans and the media.

VIP will be available from Thursday and we will post those details when they are ready. (Please remember VIP does not include the price of the show ticket – this must be brought from the vendor).

In a couple of weeks time, John 5 will embark on his first solo tour.  Complete with a drummer (the legendary Rodger Carter) and bassist (step up Mr Ian Ross), John 5 will be touring dates in the West Coast and mid-states.  If scheduling with Zombie allows (” My first priority is Rob Zombie. I just have to check with scheduling and see how we’re looking in the world of Zombie.”), the show will expand to the East Coast too.

Careful With That Axe is available from tomorrow on Amazon, iTunes and all decent digital music retailers.  But in case you can’t wait, our friends at Guitar World have uploaded this Live Session video of John 5, Rodger Carter (drums) and Matt Wilson (bass), playing one of the tracks from the album; Jerrys Breakdown (written by Jerry Reed for the Chet Aitkens/Jerry Reed guitar duet album ‘Me and Chet‘). This is the second live session released by John 5, the first being for This Is My Rifle

The video is directed by Jonny Coffin (Coffin Case owner). Be on the lookout for more from John 5 and Coffin; they’re working on a horror miniseries called Tales from the Crossroads.

As well as explaining the theme behind each track, he explains why he decided to shake up the writing process this time round, by the introduction of two live performers – Rodger Carter on drums (whose Doghouse Studios the album was recorded at) and bassist Matt Bissonnette.

Check out this VERY cool UNCUT LIVE session video taken from the studio, of John 5 performing the single “This Is My Rifle” from his new album “Careful With That Axe”. Directed by Mr Jonny Coffin, it features Rodger Carter on drums and Dylan Wilson playing bass. Filmed at The Doghouse Studios in LA earlier in the year, the video is part of a collaborative project developed for this album by Jonny Coffin and John 5.

From the darkest corners of the twisted mind and imagination of guitarist John 5, comes his new masterpiece Careful With That Axe, the follow-up to 2012’s critically acclaimed God Told Me To. Released digitally on August 12, 2014, through 60 Cycle Hum, Careful With That Axe is John 5’s eighth solo album and features Rodger Carter on drums and Matt Bissonette on bass.

The album’s first single, entitled “This Is My Rifle,” will be digitally released on June 17th, the same day pre-orders go up for Careful With That Axe at all online participants.     (more…)


John 5 back in the studio for Careful with that Axe

Before he goes back on the road with Rob Zombie for touring, John 5 went back to The Doghouse Studio in Los Angeles on Friday (28 March) to continue to lay down tracks for his next solo album, Careful with that Axe. John 5 is joined in the studio and on the album by Rodger Carter (drummer/owner of The Doghouse), bassist Dylan Wilson and a few guests whom you may or may not know – more news on guest appearances coming in the future.

As last week, John 5 is joined in the studio by Jonny Coffin (Coffin Cases) and photographer Esteban Cortina, who are both chronicling the album on celluloid and print, for an accompanying DVD.

J5 collaborates with Rodger Carter on new CD

John 5 will appear with a host of other artists (30 in total), including Lita Ford, John Waite, Rick Springfield (Rodger is the drummer for Springfield), and many others on the new CD from long time friend Rodger Carter.

The album Licorice Pizza is 13 blistering tracks featuring tracks such as the fantastic cover of “Whole Lotta Rosie”.

John 5 appears on the tracks “Get Down Make Love” which is a cover of the Queen classic and also features Dilana, and the fantastic “Light Up The Sky” originally by Van Halen and featuring also Debby Holiday. (more…)
