Note from Admin: Hi all, sorry John 5 has not been able to answer the outstanding #AskJohn5 questions. With the holidays, working on the new Rob Zombie album, “It’s Alive” promotion and preparing for the tour with The Creatures, it has been hard to pin John down to get this done. However once John has finished touring, these will be answered. – Emma (J5s web manager)

Dear John,

I've recently had to bring my playing to a grinding halt for two weeks when pretty much whole left arm was messed up, especially the fingers of the  left hand. I'm playing for ~ 20ys now, but over the last two years I ramped up my practice schedule, playing almost every day, and must have gone a bit over the top with it.

What do you do to keep your fingers healthy enough to follow your practice regime and live playing?

Have low action. Play very light - I have a very light touch, don't put a lot of tension on the strings or you will get a lot of problems later in life.
