Metal guitar legend \u201cDimebag\u201d Darrell Abbott<\/strong>\u2019s influence on the music community can never be fully estimated, but if the collection of artists and players at this year\u2019s DimeBash 2011<\/a> is any indication, his legacy is as far-reaching and deeper than ever before. On December 14th<\/sup><\/em>, the world of hard rock and metal come together in a communion of thunderous songs and stories to tip its collective glass to one of the true masters of not only guitar, but music as a whole. \u201cToday marks the 7th year, which still doesn\u00b4t seem like a reality to me\u201d, states Rita Haney<\/strong>, longtime girlfriend of Dime and the person who knew him best.\u00a0 \u201cSometimes I think, “Boy this sure is a long ass tour”, but then I focus back in and realize what I\u00b4m working on at this moment and I just have to smile and be thankful for all the amazing people that surround me – thanks to him.\u00a0 I hope everyone enjoys this event as much as we like bringing it to them.\u00a0 It\u00b4s nothing more, nothing less, than “About a damn good time!” – one of my favorite Dime pastimes and phrases. There are no words to express my thanks to all the artists who make this event special and giJerry Cantrelve “us fans<\/em>” a night to remember two truly amazing people and the music they created! The Key Club Hollywood<\/em><\/strong> plays host to all-star jams featuring the vocal talents of heavy hitters like Jerry Cantrell<\/strong>, Dave Draiman<\/strong>, Duff McKagan<\/a>, Serj Tankian<\/strong>, Mike Muir<\/strong> and Sebastian Bach<\/strong>; the guitar fury from players like John 5<\/strong>, Scott Ian<\/strong>, Phil Demmel<\/strong>, Warren DeMartini<\/strong>, Ben Harper<\/strong>, Chris Howorth<\/a> and Tom Morello<\/strong>; and the ground-shaking rhythms of Dug Pinnick<\/strong>, James Lomenzo<\/strong>, Ginger Fish<\/strong>, Brian Tichy<\/strong> and Joey Jordison<\/strong>, with many more superstars lending their vocal and playing skills to the metal proceedings \u2013 with the whole shebang being emceed by That Metal Show<\/strong>\u2019s Eddie Trunk<\/strong> and his co-horts, Jim Florentine<\/strong> and Don Jamieson<\/strong>. In addition, kicking off the event will be Kill Devil Hill<\/strong>, featuring the legendary Vinnie Appice<\/strong> and Rex Brown<\/strong>.\u00a0 Also on deck are Dio Disciples<\/strong> featuring the great Rudy Sarzo<\/strong> and vocalist Tim Ripper Owens<\/a> with a special appearance by Glenn Hughes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It will truly be a special evening of hard rock featuring luminaries from some of the biggest bands in the world: Pantera<\/strong>, Anthrax<\/strong>, Disturbed<\/strong>, Slipknot<\/strong>, Rage Against The Machine<\/strong>, System of a Down<\/strong>, Machine Head<\/strong> and many more, all in the name of all things Dimebag – with 100% of proceeds from the event benefitting the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up & Shout Cancer Fund<\/a>. Additionally, attendees will be able to land some limited edition merchandise and purchase Monster Energy cocktail drink specials with 100% of the proceeds benefitting the cause as well.<\/p>\n
