John 5: \u201cThe meaning of life is to do what you love and be happy\u201d<\/strong> by Alison Richter<\/em><\/p>\n

John 5\u00a0is late. Not tardy, late. Really late \u2014 as in 40 minutes late \u2014 but when he finally calls, he\u2019s genuinely apologetic about the delay. Interviews, a television taping, a meet-and-greet \u2014 it\u2019s been one of those days. Backstage in a very noisy arena, he\u2019s moments away from soundcheck and the clock is ticking. So we begin.<\/p>\n

We all ask you the same questions, over and over. How do you keep interviews from becoming the department of redundancy department, certainly for yourself?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I think that not everybody reads the same interviews, so people want to know certain questions. That\u2019s why they\u2019re asked over and over, because people want to know these things and not all the same people are going to read it, so I think it\u2019s fair that if somebody says, \u201cWhere did you first learn to play guitar,\u201d not everybody knows that who is reading the interview.<\/p>\n
