Celebrated guitarist John 5 can pinpoint the moment he knew what he wanted to do with his life.<\/p>\n

At age seven, John Lowery watched a young Jimmy Henley play banjo on a family variety show called “Hee Haw.” He knew then he had to learn this instrument. Then the guitar. Then the mandolin.<\/p>\n

Once he started, he couldn’t stop. Today, he’s an expert in all three.<\/p>\n

“It’s crazy there’s this exact moment when I realized I wanted to play,” said John, 47, in a call to syracuse.com. “It changed my life.”<\/em><\/p>\n
