Bat Out Of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose

It is with sadness that we found out today that legendary rock singer Meat Loaf (born Marvin Lee Aday), passed away last night (1/20) aged 74, surrounded by his wife Deborah, daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends.

John 5, who co-wrote the track “The Monster Is Loose” with Nikki Sixx for Meat Loaf’s 2006 album “Bat Out Of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose” shares his sadness on the news:

“I am devastated to hear about the passing of Meat Loaf. He was a brilliant singer and an incredible songwriter. I had the honor of working with him on his album Bat out of Hell 3 along with Desmond Child and Nikki Sixx. I would sit and talk with Meat Loaf and he was so kind and very funny. He will truly be missed. My heart goes out to his family.”

At the time that the album came out Meat Loaf spoke of working with 5 to AOL Music; “John 5 was playing guitars and it scared the hell out of me, because it was, like, so heavy and so different…It was at that moment that I just went, ‘Okay, I am not going to be closed. I’m opening up, and I’m going for everything and anything that I can be different about. And that’s where we went.”

All of Team John 5’s thoughts are with Meatloaf’s family and friends and his legion of fans worldwide.
