[Interview] J5 speaks to Syracuse.com ahead of his Valentines Day show

John 5 talks childhood inspirations, the changing music scene and becoming a vegan, among other subjects, with Syracuse.com

From Syracuse.com:

Celebrated guitarist John 5 can pinpoint the moment he knew what he wanted to do with his life.

At age seven, John Lowery watched a young Jimmy Henley play banjo on a family variety show called “Hee Haw.” He knew then he had to learn this instrument. Then the guitar. Then the mandolin.

Once he started, he couldn’t stop. Today, he’s an expert in all three.

“It’s crazy there’s this exact moment when I realized I wanted to play,” said John, 47, in a call to syracuse.com. “It changed my life.”
