John 5 to play Strange 80’s 2 charity event in October

Strange 80's 2

Strange 80's 2

John 5 will be joining a host of stars, to appear at the second annual Strange 80’s Benefit show, on Friday, October 12 at the Fonda Theatre in LA, CA.

About the event:

“Strange 80s is an annual benefit show at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles which features a rotating cast of the biggest marquis talent and emerging artists in rock, performing songs from the world’s favorite decade, the 80s. Strange incorporates musicians, comedians and cast members from the latest binge-worthy series in pop-culture. It’s the only platform to see unfathomable supergroups comprised of members from stalwart bands. Slipknot, Fall Out Boy, The Regrettes and Nsynch, meshed into one playing a song the whole world can sing along to, or an obscure track that takes you back to that glorious time. Or for those who don’t know what life was like without a cell phone, let the song and the vibe explain it.”

100% of the proceeds raised each year go to a different cause. This years charity beneficiary is 320 Changes Direction, (co-founded by Chester Bennington’s widow Talinda – #ChangeMentalHealth) which helps those who suffer from mental health, depression and addiction issues. This years stars include, Scott Ian, Corey Taylor, Dave Kushner, Adrian Young and Gary Holt, among others.

As well as music, there is an arcade installation of authentic ’80s video games, and exclusive opportunities to interact with some of your favorite artists. Special meet-and-greets are also available to bid on through Charitybuzz and fans will also be able to bid on a variety of donated items and experiences  – see some of the auctions already online here: charitybuzz.com/support/CharityBomb.

John 5 signs up for Kirk Hammett’s ‘Fear FestEvil’

Fear Festevil

John 5 will be helping Kirk “Von” Hammett out at this years “Fear FestEvil“, as a panel participant. The event, which takes place in San Jose on April 10 – 12, sees Hammett share his passion for horror – a passion that has ‘spawned a legendary collection of horror memorabilia‘ – with likeminded fans, in a celebration of all things horror.

John 5, as well as bring a panel participant, will be available, with Kirk and Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, for signings on the Saturday and Sunday (for those with VIP Tickets). 5 is a lifelong fan of the classic Universal monster series – a passion that has himself seen the acquisition of a series of custom Tele paint-jobs by Jason Oberley.

Bid on a signed poster from the Drop in the Bucket event

As you will remember, a couple of weeks ago John 5 appeared at a special charity event for the Drop in the Bucket cause, with fellow rock stars Henry Rollins, Piggy D, Corey Taylor, Ginger Fish and more.

The event was to raise money and awareness for clean drinking water across the globe, especially in developing countries.

Drop in the Bucket on their Twitter page have announced an auction to bid on the posters for the event which has been signed by all the artists that took part that night.

As mentioned last week, John 5 and other members of Rob Zombie (Piggy D and Ginger Fish) would be joining Henry Rollins, Corey Taylor and Dave Navarro (amongst others) for a benefit concert in Hollywood’s Avalon Theater, raising awareness and money for a charity called ‘Drop in the Bucket’.

The charity raises money to ensure children across the world have access to clean water – as their motto says “clean water is a human right”.

That concert took place last night and was a very successful event. A number of videos are now available to watch from last nights event.  Check them out below:
